Creating the space to expand the scope and scale of our services will bring alignment with the needs of our community.
$1.2M Goal
Our Haven from Hunger program, located at 71 Wallis Street in Peabody, was in need of repair upon acquisition, when Citizens Inn and Haven from Hunger merged in 2017. The Inn To Opportunity Campaign aims to transform Haven from Hunger into an accessible space that clients are proud to visit.
The second floor’s large, commercial kitchen will be provide us the additional space necessary to store and prepare food to meet the increased pantry demand. It will also be rented by caterers and small business owners during off-hours to provide an additional revenue stream for our programming. The upstairs dining room will be home to our community meals program and will double as a space for workshops such as financial literacy, ESL classes, and career coaching. The second floor Resource Center will serve as a private space for our Homelessness Prevention staff and other social service providers to meet with clients experiencing challenges that exacerbate their food insecurity.
